It is an especially important principle for the juvenile justice system that deals with young people at an important crossroads in their lives. Youth Aid Panels-Sponsored by the
District Attorney, Youth Aid Panels are community-based citizen courts aimed at giving first-time offenders a chance to avoid getting a criminal record through community service. The Panels handle 10,000 cases per
year.
